It’s been almost a month since I covered the Television Critics Association winter press tour for CNN. But I recently recovered some behind the scenes footage, featuring Anika Noni Rose (Dreamgirls) and Jill Scott talking to my first Flip Cam, and I thought I should share. Much of the goings on at press tours consist of the whole hurry-up-and-wait strategy. There is a lot of channel surfing on the hotel room TVs, hanging out in hallways, and sniffing for pizza purchased by the other camera crews.
I was nervous that I wasn’t going to get to interview Jill, who happens to be one of my favorite R&B/Soul singers. But she glowingly arrived at CNN’s room at the end of the day to talk about her new HBO series “The No. 1 Ladies Detective’s Agency.”
The six-month pregnant performer had been on her feet most of the day answering questions, but she still had a genuine smile on her face.
